National Parks of the world - Hawaii Volcanoes
Located 45 minutes from Hilo the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park is home to some of the most active volcanoes of the world. One of the main reasons people visit the place is the chance of seeing an eruption happen. Consisting of 150 miles or 241 kilometers of trials it is a great place for hikers. The park was named a World Biosphere Site by UNESCO in 1980 and in 1987 was honored as a World Heritage Site. Located on the park’s premises is a Kilauea Visitor Center where you can acquire maps, advice and suggestions from park rangers. The most popular volcano is the Kilauea which is an extremely active volcano. The land around this natural wonder constantly changes from all the powerful natural forces. While visiting you should always remember to stay on marked trials because you don’t want to step in hot magma.

And what about the air? Is it safe to breathe in? It looks like it might contain ash, sulphur and god knows what.
