National Parks of the world - Mesa Verde
Mesa Verde is one of the most unique national parks of the world. Located in the state of Colorado, this park is a bastion of human history. It consists of pit houses, pueblos, missionary towers, kivas and cliff dwellings built by shadowy stone age people. Experts say that these people settled there around 600 AD. What is so special about those constructions is the fact that they were built under rock overhangs and inside shallow caves. The biggest and most impressive structure is the cliff palace which includes over 200 rooms. The most adventures and fun attraction of the park is the balcony house where in order to sightsee the place you have to climb ladders and crawl through tight hallways. In the 1300 the whole population just vanished but we still cannot figure out the main reason why that happened. Even though, this national park does not have a huge variety of activities it is still a very interesting place to visit. It is an area rich of history that tells the story of America’s ancestors.

What exactly are "missionary towers"?
ReplyDeleteIf the whole population of this place vanished in 1300, some hundreds of years before Christians arrived in this place, what missionaries are we talking about?
I misspelled it. It's supposed to say "masonry towers"
