My goal for the semester
This semester I would like to improve my range of vocabulary and knowledge about various topics in English. In order to accomplish that I would watch interesting YouTube channels like "crash course", "Vsauce" or "Smarter every day". Another thing I would like to improve is my knowledge of British English. I think the best way to do that is to listen to British native speakers, watch British YouTube channels, British movies or read thing written by British autors. To practice my speaking I will try to get in touch with my old friends from aboard every now or then.
Careful about the mix of British and American English.
ReplyDeleteI'd recommend British TV series - just Google 'British TV series" and you'll find plenty of high quality films.
The BBC also produces dozens of quiz shows, a lot of them leaning towards comedy, e.g. "8 Out Of Ten Cats", "Would I Lie to You" or, if you're into current events "Mock the Week" and "Have I Got News For You". Not to mention chat shows like "The Graham Norton Show".
