14.03.2021- Cycling in Europe
In a result
of the last year pandemic people reconfigured their streets to make walking and
cycling easier. They did that to help distance people and help to ease air pollution.
ECF (European Cyclists’ Federation) spent 1 billion euro on Cycling measures
including 1000km of cycling routes around the cities of Europe. Barcelona is
just one of the cities involved in the project. Officials are construction 100
miles of new improved routes.
In my opinion this is an amazing initiative. Cities are heading into the right direction making these decisions. I like that people are trying to decrease the amount of air pollution. Cycling is a very environmental efficient way to get around the city and also a good way to exercise. Which is a good thing nowadays because gyms and sport complexes are closing down one by one due to the pandemic. In result of new cycling lanes, cities become more tourist friendly and produce opportunities for rental businesses.

Oh, yes! A visit to Copenhagen or Amsterdam proves that cycling can be an effective alternative to public transport. If only Warsaw wasn't so spread-out.
