Reflection 1

During my leisure time at the Baltic Sea, I noticed a very interesting and serious observation. Every now and then my family and I visit a small town called Białogóra. We witnessed a process of a small town transforming into a city. More and more people and houses appear out of nowhere. This was confirmed by my cousins who visit this place regularly and we also talked with many locals about it.

Reflecting back on it, this is becoming a serious problem all around the world. The rapid development of places like this is caused by the increasing demand of tourists. Although this makes money and pushes capital into the economy, a lot of beautiful untouched land is being transformed into apartments and amenities to attract people. It is sad to see but I don’t think there is a lot to do about it. The world’s population is at it’s peak and even if the government places some regulations developers will manage to get around them.

  1. And sadly, many of such tourists destinations go dormant in the autumn, especially the ones at the seaside - no one comes and most hotels and houses are empty.
