Reflection 3

As we all know, today was the All-Saints’ Day. During my visit at the graveyard, something interesting caught my attention. While walking near the containers I saw the vast amount of the trash and grave candles from last year being thrown out. The amount of waste produced by this holiday is unimaginable.

After coming back home I came across an information on the internet about the all-Saints’ Day being one of the holidays that produce the biggest amount of debris. I find this easy to believe. In my opinion we should start using more durable grave candles so we can use them for a longer time or just reuse the old one if they are in a good condition. Also, we should come up with a more eco friendly case for the wax. The one used at the moment is made out of thick plastic which isn’t really that great for the environment. The amount of pollution is at its peak so we should improvise some changes.

  1. Maybe drop this tradition altogether? Or as some people suggested this year, limit the lights to one per tombstone.
